Once energized, boundary-pushing, and full of intriguing ideas, Muse has become a band best described as “average at best”. This album is as average and uninspired as they come. It’s not as terrible as their truly low points (*cough* The 2nd Law *cough*), but in a way, being labeled as average might be the worst insult for this band.
Oh, and if you are going to do social commentary as a progressive band, maybe try thinking of creative lyrics with depth, instead of high school essay-like cheese.
