“Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys”
Though I don’t fully embrace the fact that MCR were ever “emo” (or at least bound to only that genre), this album allowed them to break free completely from that stereotype. It’s a shame that this would end up being their last, since the soundscape they created here was very interesting and different from everything they had done. There is definitely more punk in this release – fast guitars and some good screaming – and even influences from desert sounds (as the cover would lead you to believe).
Oh, and it’s danceable as f*ck!
