Bright Eyes – The People’s Key

Bright Eyes

“The People’s Key”

Even the weird pseudo/alt-religion talk in between tracks is awkwardly enjoyable (mainly for it’s humor and parallels to a lost Silurian story from Doctor Who).  As for the music itself?  Conor Oberst and the rest of Bright Eyes go out with a loud bang (if this is truly their last release under the Bright Eyes name, like hinted at).  I am not well versed in the rest of their catalog, but this album has some heavy rocking moments that come as a surprise to me.

Grade: B+

Favorite Track: Jejune Stars

Second Favorite: Firewall
