The Smashing Pumpkins
“Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness”
It is hard for any double album to keep up the pace and not have areas of filler or weakness. Surprisingly, The Smashing Pumpkins made one of the best double albums of all-time, packing it full of genre- and generation-defying hits. Billy Corgan and company must have been out of their mind, because not only did they write such a massive (success and length) album, but during this time period they even had more material that didn’t make the cut!
