Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quintet
“The Apocalypse Inside of an Orange”
The first half of this disc starts out amazing, with the bulk of the time spent on a follow-up to a track from “Omar Rodriguez” called Jacob Van Lennepkade II (Notice where Viscera Eyes by The Mars Volta shares its roots?). The strong beginning slowly starts to morph into more of an electronic noise/distortion feel by the end. In all, there are some killer riffs and jazz influences that would make John McLaughlin proud.
Favorite Track: Jacob Van Lennepkade II
