The Darkness – Permission to Land

The Darkness

“Permission to Land”

Sometimes we take music too seriously, we need an album full of over-the-top production, lyrics, and/or music.  The Darkness pulled out all the stops and produced a hilarious take on 80s hair-metal, full of mind-bending and era-defying falsettos (talk about making Freddie Mercury proud).  While not a comedy album by any means, this is as hilarious as a band can get without making a trash album.  (Some songs are best accompanied by their respective music video, as those too were over the top in such a sweet, sweet way.)

Grade: B+

Favorite Track: I Believe In A Thing Called Love
