Making up your own language can either be seen as silly and foolish, or smacks of arrogance, self-importance, and even elitism. Luckily, Sigur Rós avoid all of those labels and execute this album, completely in “Hopelandic”, with precision and convey their emotions/feelings beautifully. This album is not a feel-good, light-listening disc, it’s a weighty, emotional 72 minutes that eventually give great payoff, similar to going to communion (washing away all “sins”).
