Silverchair – Young Modern

Silverchair-Young-Modern

Silverchair

“Young Modern”

With five years off from the scene, Silverchair bursts back and reclaims “best band from Down Under” (as if there was any question).  Starting out as a grunge-inspired band, Daniel Johns’ admitted struggles and changes in taste brought this band closer to pop and even incorporate orchestral tones.  This album does indeed rock, but it also is poppy and catchy in a way that their earlier catalog could never be.  It’s fun watching bands mature like this.
